Partially neutralized sodium polyacrylate
for Pharmaceuticals & Beauty
Product description
Partially neutralized polyacrylate(Product code: ZP800) is the water-soluble polymer and used for the pharmaceutical excipients (for external use), cosmetics materials, and industrial thicken. This partially neutralized polyacrylate is mainly used as a raw material for poultice gel or cooling gel sheet.
It is a water-soluble polymer synthesized from acrylic acid. It has a straight chain structure, giving it stringing properties. In addition, it contains abundant carboxy group (-COOH) inside its molecules, so for example trivalent metal ions can be used as a cross-linking agent, allowing for resilient aqueous gels to be created. It is not a cross-linking type of super absorbent polymer (SAP) .
Feature: Water solubility, Adhesion, Thickening properties (thicken under weak acid and alkaline environments), Huge molecular weight, Anionic (negatively-charged ion). Our sodium polyacrylate is comparable to Japanese sodium polyacrylate product.
Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
Sodium Polyacrylate can be use as drug pulp thickener, stabilizing agent, mix water preparation and ointment drugs.
With proper application,ZP800 can be used for medical applications: After dispersing ZP800 onto a moistening agent such as glycerin, adding water, and kneading together with the cross-linking agents of aluminum compounds and organic acids, an aqueous gel raw material sol is formed. As a subsequent cross-linking reaction proceeds, the suspension forms into a gel. This technique has a variety of applications, including in pharmaceutical cataplasms(poultices) gel, cooling gel patch, and medical devices.
The role of Partially neutralized polyacrylate in this aqueous gel is as follows:
1. Gives gels adhesive
2. Confers an ability to maintain a shape
3. Retains water or solvents inside the gel
*Compare with gels formed by agar or carrageenan, ZP800 gels have viscidity, are not easily torn when stretched apart, and have elastic resilience.
