DUI Polymer is a high molecular weight sodium polyacrylate, serving as an anionic flocculant and rheological modifier. It comes in the form of a freely flowing granular powder, fully soluble in water, producing a high viscosity solution.

Application and Usage Instructions

DUI Polymers are extensively used in various mineral processing operations with high pH values. Being nitrogen-free, they are suitable for brine clarification without generating nitrogen trichloride during subsequent electrolysis.

Applications include:

  • Alkaline leaching uranium circuits
  • Saltwater clarification
  • Flocculation in high pH systems
  • Rheological modification of bentonite-based drilling fluids

The dosage typically ranges from 2g to 200g per ton of flocculated dry substrate, depending on the specific application.

Usage Notes

Under optimal conditions, both dried products and solutions can be stored beyond the recommended time, though some efficiency loss may occur. Solids should be stored in a cool, dry place to avoid high temperature and humidity, which can cause moisture absorption and clumping.

Recommended Solution Concentration:

  • Stock Solution: 0.25-0.5%
  • Feed Solution: 0.025-0.1%

Dissolution Method

Gradually add sodium polyacrylate powder to water at room temperature while stirring. Avoid adding a large amount at once and do not pour water into the powder to prevent the formation of mixed micelles, which are difficult to dissolve. Stir continuously until a uniform solution is achieved.
